This
is a rare chance to view both Notre Dame Cathedral and
the Eiffel Tower from our vantage point over the River
Seine. Look carefully and you will see the Eiffel Tower
protruding left of center on the horizon.

This
shadowy image is Jim and Noreen on a bridge over the
Seine. For a different view of this bridge, see Jim's
Black & White page.

Paris
shares an abundance of Spring flowers. Almost everywhere
you look you will find yet another radiant assortment
to enjoy.

Jim's
new violin - a German from about 1770. Plays like a
dream! I (Jim) found this wonderful instrument in a
tiny luthier shop along a side street near the Seine
(on the Left Bank, of course).

Here
I am looking like a pregnant bee as I try to stay dry
with my Paris plastic cape barely making it over my
back pack and fanny pack. Let me tell you, the hardest
part is trying to pee with this outfit on!!! However,
it's all worth it to be back in my favorite Luxembourg
Jardins -- with Pan playing on my head.

On
our visit to Montparnasse Cemetery we are intrigued
by Ricardo's special art -- a vividly created large
cat. This cemetery is unusual because it is dedicated
mostly to dead French artists and writers. Jim wanted
to find the most famous grave site, that of Jean-Paul
Sartre. We found it. He is buried here along with his
longtime chum, Simone de Beauvoir. This did not impress
me as much as the colorful cat.

Here
is Jim emulating the posture of Pan ... and doing a
pretty good job despite the restrictions of his attire.

Only
in Paris would there be a special sign directing reptilians
to the toilet.
.
|

And
here, in a Paris zoo, is an example of a reptilian of
the dangerous viper type, probably waiting in line for
the toilet. Don't try to crowd in line ahead of him!

Another
carpet of gorgeous flowers.

This
strangely contorted yoga pose is an ad for something
-- we're not quite sure what, but if you look at the
reflections on the top you will see an interesting skyline
of Paris. Variations on this poster can be seen on buses,
in the Metro and at various kiosks throughout the city.
Paris ads are much racier than most American ads. We
appreciate this!

Colorful
reflections from a stained glass window decorate the
floor of our favorite local church, Saint Genevieve.
She is the beloved patron Saint of Paris who, as a Christian
Celt, was known for her visions and prophecies. A most
charitable lady, she died in 512 at an age past 90.

Parisian
street artist creates elaborate chalk design as she
hunkers down beside the Metro (subway) close to where
we live.

This
really BIG police bus, unlike any we'd ever seen before,
sat all day in front of our apartment awaiting the riot
that never happened.
|

Between
munching on luncheon baguettes and jawing with the cute
Sorbonne coeds, these policeman are vigilant against
the threat of a riot that thankfully did not occur.

Every
web site needs at least one cliché vacation photo.
This is ours! We decided to visit the Arc de Triumph
and a pleasant Japanese couple offered to snap our picture.
Since it is such a cliché, we decided to spark
it up a bit just for fun.
