This
sculpture appeals to me a lot since, as a child, I
was an avid 'rope jumper.' This is called, "Little
Girl Skipping," (1950) and is a plaster original
(osier basket, cake mould, shoes, wood, iron, pottery
and plaster). Picasso used to love to frolic around
with finding and using just about anything that caught
his fancy (from pebbles to old bicycle seats) and
turning it into his art. However, it is said, "But
the secret language of all these works is their unity."
